A door is never just a door—it is a metaphor, a boundary, a choice. In my work, I explore the seductive power of the unknown, embodied in a door adorned with a golden knob. The golden sheen whispers promises: discovery, connection, perhaps even fulfillment. It tempts the hand, urging us to turn it, to step into what feels like an invitation to something extraordinary.

But not all invitations are meant to be accepted. Behind some doors lies not treasure, but deception. The golden knob, a symbol of allure, often masks the reality of what’s hidden—a hollow façade, a shadowed truth. This is the paradox I aim to capture: the beauty of temptation and the cost of giving in.

This imagery parallels the people we encounter, those whose outward brilliance conceals darker intentions. Some individuals, much like these doors, appear inviting, captivating even. Yet once their surface is breached, we uncover harm disguised as charm, illusion as substance.

Through this work, I delve into the tension between curiosity and caution, trust and self-preservation. I challenge viewers to reflect on their own boundaries, to consider the wisdom in letting certain doors remain closed. It is a testament to discernment—a reminder that sometimes the most empowering act is to resist the pull of the golden knob and walk away.
