More than an architectural element, the door represents the threshold between public life and private memory, a silent witness to generations of conversations, celebrations, grief, and hospitality.Inspired by the traditional majlis, a place where stories are shared and communities are strengthened, this work explores the idea that objects carry memory long after the voices that once surrounded them have faded. Every grain in the timber, every iron stud, and every carved detail bears the imprint of time, preserving moments that history books cannot record.The restrained palette of warm earth tones against a tranquil turquoise background reflects the dialogue between the UAE’s natural landscapes and its evolving identity. The weathered surface symbolizes resilience, while the contemporary composition acknowledges the nation’s transformation without losing sight of its cultural foundations.
